Position Description

As a Manager, ATS Technical Writing, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Learn the Applied Medical's Business Processes
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Establish policies, procedures, responsibilities and lead times of the team on documentation requests
  • Lead and guide the team with technical writing policies, procedures and best practices
  • Act as a point of escalation, for challenges, concerns and ideas
  • Analyze and recommend improvements to all internal procedures and implement same
  • Work with all teams within ATS to create user guides, design specifications, test protocols, and other software development related documents
  • Collaborate with various entities across the organization to create member facing materials
  • Build and maintain end user documentation ensuring it is intuitive, complete and accurate
  • Develop templates and guidelines for project deliverables
  • Assist with the coordination, assignment, and status reporting of development projects and activities
  • Develop and enhance the processes for the Technical Writing Team
  • Act as a champion for the team in the larger ATS organization
  • Collaborate with requesters and developers to create user requirements specifications.
  • Create documentation for IT project and processes
  • Identify all document repositories to determine best solution for improving and storing information in a centralized, easy to find manner

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree or work experience in a Technical Field, Communications, or English
  • Minimum 10 years experience in technical writing
  • Technical Writing Certification
  • Posses excellent grammar, written and verbal communication skills
  • Posses strong organization skills with attention to details
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities
  • Knowledge of Information Technology practices and work flow, preferably in the areas of network, data center or cloud environment and the technologies that support them to include security, network monitoring and support, and operational processes and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office application (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Strong computer skills including Adobe Acrobat and MS Office Suite
  • Experience with Office 365, Sharepoint, Visio and other version control software
  • Ability to react to change and thrive in a fast-paced environment
