Position Description

As a Landscaper/Groundskeeper you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Care for established landscape by mulching, aerating, weeding, trimming flower beds, walkways and walls
  • Operate power equipment-mowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, blowers and vehicles
  • Maintain indoor plants/trees as well as outdoors
  • Prune shrubs/trees utilizing proper pruning standards according to ISA
  • Clean debris/trash within Applied property and landscape
  • Maintain all landscape tools and equipment to ensure proper working order
  • Inspect tools before and after each use as well as cleaning on a regular basis
  • Ability to mix/spray/spread fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides as needed under direction
  • Ability to understand Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and follow label instructions
  • Maintain irrigation systems, documenting and reporting areas needing attention
  • Report any concerns of plant/trees in the landscape that may need attention
  • Upkeep of facility sidewalks, driveways and parking lots at all times

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience working as a Nurseryman, Groundskeeper, Irrigation Specialist, Landscaper or similar
  • Strong desire to create and maintain an aesthetically pleasing landscape environment for team members to enjoy
  • Experienced in the use of power tools such as saws, trimmers, shovels and rakes
  • Proven track record of good work ethic/history
  • Clean driving record
  • Valid California Driver's License


 The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • California Qualified Applicators License or Certificate
