Position Description

In the medical device industry, sales aren’t made without contracts. The Contracts team at Applied Medical plays a critical role in the organization by supporting our global selling efforts in a complicated and challenging industry. Our tightly knit group relies on exceptional team synergy to succeed in this fast-paced, demanding and ever changing environment. As a Contract Administrator, you will work collaboratively with internal and external teams at all levels to facilitate, manage and oversee the contract process from initial proposal to final execution.

 

 Responsibilities include the following:

  • Managing a high volume of sales contracts and drafting, negotiating and revising contract documents
  • Reviewing and editing contracts received from customers
  • Tracking contract flow, renewals, termination dates and key contract milestones, and providing updates to the team
  • Working closely with customers to facilitate negotiations, manage document control and iterations, and oversee the signature process
  • Developing and implementing procedures and policies
  • Responding to Requests for Proposal and Quotation (RFP/RFQ)
  • Assessing the needs for contract amendments and providing guidance to key stakeholders
  • Making recommendations and negotiating changes to terms and conditions while mitigating risks to the company

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • B.S. or equivalent experience with strong academic credentials
  • 2-5 years of full-time experience in a contract administrator position or related role
  • Experience using CLM systems (SAP Ariba experience is a plus)
  • Knowledge of contract documents, including standard contract terms and conditions
  • Ability to interpret contract provisions and provide high-level summaries of contract terms
  • Understanding of the healthcare contracting landscape (GPOs, IDNs, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience in the medical device industry is a plus
  • Ability to work and excel within a fast-paced, dynamic and constantly changing work environment
  • Flexibility to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Strong document drafting, reviewing and editing skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal clients at all levels
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and OneNote) and Adobe Acrobat
    • Expert-level Microsoft Word skills are required (document properties, document comparisons, track changes, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to learn and make suggestions to improve efficiencies
  • Consistent and reliable work ethic
