Position Description

As a UI Developer, responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Support daily applications development production operations
  • Analyze the design of technical systems and business models
  • Turn business goals and requirements into wireframes and prototypes
  • Identify and implement potential application solutions and automation opportunities
  • Communicate with stakeholders to define system requirements
  • Write automated unit and integration tests
  • Ability to work in an agile environment for rapid prototyping of application solution
  • Adhere to Software Development Life Cycle best practices
  • Detail-oriented, able to multitask with strong prioritization, planning, and organization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Foster the defining and sharing of UX/UI design patterns and standards across team members

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • 4-year degree
  • 1-5 years' of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrate solid foundations in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Proficient understanding of DOM/HTML/CSS and modern web standards
  • Basic understanding of CSS browser compatibility
  • Proficient understanding of compiled CSS superset languages (SASS, LESS, Stylus)
  • Familiar with CSS methodologies (BEM, SMACSS, OOCSS)
  • Experience with CSS animations
  • Knowledgeable working with Front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap, Tailwind, and React
  • Familiar with Figma, Adobe XD, or other related tools
  • Experience with design systems a plus
  • Basic understanding of information, interaction, and user-centered design principles
  • Foster the defining and sharing of UX/UI design patterns and standards across team members
  • Knowledgeable in accessibility, performance optimization, and SEO
  • Basic knowledge of the following digital accessibility guidelines:
    • W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
    • Section 508
    • User Agent Accessibility Guidelines (UAAG)
    • Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG)
    • Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) code within HTML
  • Experience with making informed design decisions using user research (A/B testing) and analytics tools a plus
  • Strong appetite to learn and take on additional responsibilities as personal skill set expands
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced organization
  • Ability to prioritize and handle conflicting priorities to meet critical project deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Receptive to feedback through brainstorming, design review, and code reviews
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
