Position Description
The Elasticsearch Engineer will have extensive experience working, architecting, designing, and developing solutions using Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, and related tools. This role will be responsible for creating, customizing, and modifying dashboards for different business units across the enterprise, as well as setting up and modifying Elastic Indices and their lifecycle. You will be introduced to Applied Medical, our core philosophies, the medical device industry, and the products we manufacture.
As an Elasticsearch Engineer, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:
Work closely with multiple departments to assess customer requirements
Design and support an Elastic Stack solution to ensure compliance with dashboard data requirements
Adhere to Software Development Life Cycle best practices when migrating solutions from Dev to QA to Production
Position Requirements
This position requires the following skills and attributes:
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience working in a similar role
- 5+ years of Ubuntu Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) experience
- 3+ years of Elastic Stack experience with medium to large clusters in a production environment
- Advanced knowledge of Elastic Stack architecture
- Strong understanding of Elasticsearch index configuration options
- Demonstrated experience using Kibana visualization strategies and techniques
- Experience configuring and performance tuning large clusters
- Experience planning, developing, and supporting Elastic Security (SIEM)
- Experience developing Elastic Machine Learning jobs to monitor for and report on anomalies
- Demonstrated experience with maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting Elastic Stack environments in a cloud and on-premise computing environment
- Demonstrated experience with complex data migration planning and execution
- Demonstrated experience with Elastic Roll-ups and Transforms
- Adhere to Software Development Life Cycle best practices
- Ability to work well with team members from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
- Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform data-related benchmarking, performance analysis, and tuning
