Position Description

As a Plant Operations Technician I, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • During the first 30 days, you will spend time learning and familiarizing yourself with the departmental processes, Safety, Quality System, SOP’s, MI’s, and ISO.
  • Train with Team Leader and Senior Technicians, during normal business hours, Tuesday through Saturday
  • Understand and comply with safety rules and Company policies
  • Embrace teamwork to influence the team to meet or exceed daily equipment needs
  • In your 60-90 days, you will be exposed to and assist in hands-on preventative maintenance per our maintenance schedule
  • Conduct daily site visits/rounds in RSM, LF, IRVINE to ensure all Compressed Air systems are working properly
  • Perform maintenance on Air Compressors, Air dyers and Central Plant Based Equipment
  • Record and maintain maintenance log sheets and file paperwork per our quality system
  • Able to obtain license to operate forklifts and company vehicles
  • Communicate with team and various team within the company in a professional manner
  • Help team with machine moves/rigging when needed
  • RO System maintenance and Water Treatment testing

Position Requirements

  • 2+ years of preventative maintenance experience
  • Troubleshoot electrical devices and controls
  • Track use of material and parts needed for emergency repairs
  • Work outside and on rooftops for a majority of the day
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and multitask
  • Must be open to come in on emergency calls and stay late if situations do rise
  • Ability to cross train in other departments
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of safety process, 5s, LOTO
  • Must be able to communicate both written and orally in the English language
  • Computer proficiency in Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Keep a clean work environment
  • Collaborate with team members
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and in a team setting

Preferred

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Technical trade degree or certificate
  • Experience in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical systems such as air compressors, air dryers, cooling towers, electric chillers, absorption chillers, pumps and blowers.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, RO systems, and water softeners
  • Experience working with pvc, copper piping, and brazing
