Accounting Manager

Position Description

As an Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations across multiple legal entities
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure deadlines are met for timely and accurate monthly financial close
  • Evaluate, develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures with emphasis on internal controls to enhance the work flow of the department
  • Work with other finance and non-finance teams addressing day-to-day business activities and associated accounting implications
  • Compile and provide timely management reporting with analysis, commentary, and insight on operating results
  • Prepare, review and analyze financial statements
  • Assist and participate in the annual financial audit; coordinate with internal and external auditors
  • Research and apply knowledge of U.S. GAAP to ensure proper recording of financial transactions
  • Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Hire, train, lead and coach team members

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelors' degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Public accounting experience required (Big 4 strongly preferred)
  • CPA required
  • Exceptional working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Teamwork and collaborative partner management with good interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Planning, priority-setting and multi-tasking
  • Proficiency with MS Office


The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Recent experience in Life Sciences and/or manufacturing industry
  • SAP/BPC experience
